2008
Oct 19 We went to Gentry Farms and into the pumpkin patch and Hannah, Laura and I had a great time picking five pumpkins. She LOVES pumpkins and gords of all kinds.
Oct 18 We went to Natchez Trace with Laura's parents and had a picnic. Hannah had a fantastic time visiting and petting several horses.
Oct 11 Mark came in third again in his age group in the Oktoberfest Germantown Bier 5K run. It was also a PR (Personal Record) at 20:07 (mm:ss) time. That's 6:30 minutes per mile (as posted).
Sep 27 We are going to Roger and Laura Reed's house to ride dirt bikes and have a marshmallow roast. We've been to prior "dirt bikes and marshmallow roasts" and had a great time. I really look forward to this. Since the Reeds are moving to Chattanooga, it will be the last one. Of course, Laura and Hannah will go to the event too.
Sep 20 Mark ran a 5K PR (Personal Record) in the Christie Cookie 5K (his 2nd 5K) posting a 20:25 (mm:ss) time. That's a 6:36/mile pace (as posted). This gave me an age group 3rd place. I've been training quite hard and I'm on pace for a September total running exercise distance of over 150 miles. However, it's also true that beginning runners tend to PR more frequently than do experienced runners simply because early improvements are more dramatic than improvements after one has been training for a long time. But I'm really happy about it.
July 4 Mark ran his first 5K (the Cadillac Firecracker 5k in Brentwood, TN) with a time of 20:47 (a 6:43/mile pace as posted).
May 11

We're visiting Laura's parents for Mother's Day. It's a good relaxing weekend. Finally a bit of time to update this page.

April 26

Mark ran in Nashville's Country Music Marathon (www.cmmarathon.com - and see my specific racer results page). I met my stretch goal of completing in under 3.5 hours in my first marathon! This time is fast enough to complete one dream of mine: Qualify for the Boston Marathon! I'm totally excited. My official (chip) time was 3:29:54. So, next year, I'm headed for Boston. For now, I must recuperate.

Mar 4 Hannah is 2 years old! We celebrated at "Mimi and Grandpa's" house again. Hannah had a great time and was very excited. I've not had time to post pictures though.
